Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

Back
March 28th 2025

Each year, approximately 30,000 Year 10 pupils all around London and the South East take part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.

Sixty of our Year 10’s spent a day working with two public speaking facilitators that coached the pupils on how to construct an interesting, well-structured and well delivered three minute speech on a subject that matters to them and that has a positive message.

At the end of the workshop all the pupils delivered their speech and seven pupils were selected to go forward into an assembly final.

Chika, Millie, Sandra, Cerys, Nancy, Scarlett & Jayden

The final took place on Wednesday 26th March with Mrs Kirkpatrick as Head Judge. All the pupils delivered a fantastic speech and it has been very difficult to decide the overall winner from such a strong group of contenders. Votes are still being counted and verified. The winner and will go on to represent Gaynes School in the regional final.
