GCSE art students visit Tate Modern Gallery
BackGCSE Art & Design students had the fantastic opportunity of visiting the Tate Modern on 6th June after their morning tour of St Paul's.
We walked over the Millennium Bridge soaking up the London skyline, where students took photos of the famous view.
Once inside, we explored every floor and gallery space and students got to see a wide range of different types of art. This included performance art by acclaimed artist Lee Mingwei in the Turbine Hall and Installation art at the Tanks in the Blavatnik building.
Students were very taken with an exhibition called A Year in Art: Australia 1992, which brought together debates around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land rights in Australia. The experience was very well received with students now back in class planning artwork around what they had seen.
