Year 9 Art Trip to the National Gallery

Back
January 16th 2025

On Wednesday 15th January Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit the National Portrait Gallery to see the Zoe Law exhibition. The day was a huge success with the Tudor Room being the clear favourite all round. There are 5 floors of portraits to see at the National Portraot Gallery which include Photographs, Paintings, Drawing and Sculptures. The Gallery is set out in chronological order with the ground floor housing the more contemporary work. 'Self' by Marc Quinn caused some division in the students, as is the latest in a series of life casts made of the artist's head created from his own blood. It was definately a love it or loath it piece. Mrs McDermott, Miss Benjamin and Miss Dowding were very proud of all the students who took part, they were a credit to the school and responded with enthusiasm to the work. Well done Year 9.
