Year 7 Rounders

Year 7 had their first ever rounders fixture against Sanders. It was a really good learning experience for both teams as for many this was the first time they had played competitively with full rules enforced.

As a team our year 7 girls started off keen to get rounders, with some of our players getting out unexpectedly early because of some risky decision making! Despite making contact with the ball and making some hits, we didn’t score many as Sanders’ fielding team were sharp with their fielding skills. There were some hits from Anastasia, Sienna and Beatrice which went deep into the field, but unfortunately we were only able to score 5.5 rounders in total throughout both innings.

We showed some moments of brilliance when it was our turn to field, Roadat did well bowling for the first time and Sydney, Brooke Beatrice and Anastasia worked well together to prevent lots of half rounders being scored and getting some of the Sanders team out. The final score was Sanders 17.5 – 5.5.
