Year 8 Golf Championship
BackOne of our year 8 students, Tyler C, has been selected to represent Essex in the English Junior Junior Gold Championship. We are very proud of his achievement. He writes about his love of golf:
My life in Golf
By Tyler C
I started golf at 2 years of age with the plastic golf clubs, I enjoyed it and had a good swing, so I got bought my first set of kids clubs that needed cut down to size. My grandad got me lessons at Ingrebourne Links and I started playing golf at the newly built nine hole golf course. I am now a member of Langdon Hills Golf Club where we train and play competitive matches against other Golf Clubs.
During the half term break I finished 2nd in the Braintree Junior Open that had 65 players. I also competed in the Faldo Wedge at Burnham-on-Crouch Golf Course in a team event. We won this from 34 teams and qualified for the English Junior Championship which will be held at Woodhall Soa Golf Club in August where I will be representing Essex.
