Gaynes hosts the East :London Table Tennis Competition
BackToday saw Gaynes host their first ever Table Tennis competition for East London. With 20 schools arriving and around 200 competitors it was going to be a hard tournament.
Gaynes students got off to a good start in their opening matches winning a few games but not able to close out to win the matches against the opposing schools. In the second game much of the same occurred with some fantastic table tennis on display from all students who attended. The U13 Boys & Girls all showed their potential with some lovely shots but were unable to force a match win.
A great effort all round with a clear target of going for the win next year. The U16 boys really stepped up and were unlucky on two occasions not to win. They were demonstrating a high level of performance and played some fantastic shots. The U16 girls however went on to to win their age catagory. In a match which was ties it went down to a tally of points scored, with this still equal Gaynes went in to a sudden death match. The girls held their nerve and overcame a challenging opposition.
Well done girls and good luck in the next round which takes place 8th January 2022 in the Zonal Final.
