Transition From Primary To Secondary School Workshops
BackOn Thursday 24th October, Year 7 students had the opportunity to talk about their transition from primary to secondary school.
The workshops engage students using oracy-based activities and strategies to develop greater self-confidence and resilience to support a successful transition from primary to secondary school. During the workshop, students created an individual transition profile, spoke about how they have felt starting Gaynes School and identified what they see as the opportunities and challenges facing them in their time at Gaynes. Students worked within small groups to present a structured talk about the opportunities and challenges and suggested the means to embrace and overcome them. Finally, they were able to identify their goals for the coming year at Gaynes and again present a structured speech to their peers about them.
We would like to thank Talk the Talk for their delivery of the workshops and a recognition for Year 7 students’ outstanding engagement and behaviour throughout.
