GAYNES IN THE MONTH OF JULY 2024

Within the month of July our students took part in the following activities:

  • Year 11 students attended their Prom in Orsett Hall on Thursday 4th July
  • Y10 had First Aid workshops taken by St Johns Ambulance
  • All years took part in our Summer Soiree on 11th July
  • Our Y11 Artists held an exhibition of their work for parents and carers to come and view
  • Student Leadership applications opened
  • Our Young Writers were published in a book, copies of which are in our library
  • Y9 students organised a bake sale in aid of St Francis Hospice and raised £200
  • A Penalty Shoot-out challenge also raised money for charity
  • First Give Presentations were held
  • Achievement Assemblies celebrated students’ academic achievements and efforts together with form tutor and pastoral awards.  The Headteacher also awarded commendations

WE VISITED:

  • PE Reward trip to Nuclear Races
  • Y10 Geography went to Stratford to take part in fieldwork for their GCSE’s
  • Some Y10 students also visited a college to look at Construction courses as a Post 16 option
  • All years visited Thorpe Park on Friday 12th July as a reward for their hard work
  • Our SEN students had a reward trip to Rock Up at Lakeside

SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • District Athletics 2nd and 4th July at Hornchurch Stadium
  • Rounders rallies 16th and 17th July
