YEAR EIGHT LIFESAVER COURSE
Back“Lifesavers” London Ambulance Service 22nd May
The Year 8 cohort took part in CPR training given by the London Ambulance Service. Fewer than one in ten Londoners survive a cardiac arrest. The only way to improve those numbers is train as many people on basic CPR and how to use a defibrillator as possible. The “Lifesavers” initiative aims to train as many Year 8 pupils across London as possible. Each pupil was shown how to place and activate a defibrillator and perform chest compressions. It’s a life skill we all hope we never have to use, but by training our Year 8 cohort we are making progress towards raising that 1 in 10 statistic.
The pupils enjoyed the training and the trainers commented how committed and competent the pupils were.
