GLOBE PLAYERS PERFORM MACBETH AT GAYNES SCHOOLS

Back
November 15th 2023

On Tuesday 14th November, a professional theatre company visited Gaynes School to perform their version of William Shakespeare's MACBETH to students in years ten and eleven.  The abridged performance lasted an hour and was performed by four actors who played all of the roles and also came out of role to explain key points to the audience.  This interactive performance is part of students' preparation for their GCSE English Literature examination.

This is the latest in a series of professional theatre performances that we have hosted in school, including an annual pantomime performance for year seven, two visits to Gaynes by the Royal National Theatre and from the internationally renowned storytelling theatre group Pappy Show.  We have also taken students to see performances of plays and musicals at the National Theatre, in London's West End and at our local theatre in Hornchurch.  In the spring we will be taking a group of year nine and ten students to see the award winning immersive production of Guys And Dolls at the Bridge Theatre.
